We offer a full selection of AMCA bearings-and-drive Arrangements. A Standard Arrangement determines:
(a) The location of the bearings in relation to the wheel.
(b) The type of drive; direct through motor shaft or by sheaves and V-belts.
(c) The method of supporting the motor.
Selecting the correct drive arrangements of of particular importance where application requires the location of bearings outside of airstream.

Arrangement 1 – SWSI
Incorporates two bearings mounted on a base support with fan wheel and sheave overhung on shaft for belt-drive. Single inlet – with bearings outside of airstream – should be selected for closed systems handling contaminated air or gases for for applications where the presence of moisture or heat could be detrimental to bearings.

Arrangement 9 – SWSI
Essentially the same as Arrangement 1, but the motor is mounted on the side of the fan base for V-belt drive connection. Recommended as a complete factory-assembled package, simplifying installation. Compact drive assembly is the distinct advantage of this arrangement.

Arrangement 2 – SWSI
The same applications and advantages of Arrangement 1, but features shorter bearings centers – providing space-saving base reductions. Select this arrangement for bracketing from walls – or where plant room space is at a premium.

Arrangement 3 – SWSI and DWDI
Wheels are mounted between the bearings – supported on each side of fan housing – for greatest stability and strength. Compactness’ and low initial cost are the outstanding advantages of this Arrangement. Recommended for clean dry air applications, such as heating and air conditioning systems. Offered in a complete range of sizes. Double width, double inlet units are ideal when large volumes of hair are required and height limitations exist.
Direct-Drive Arrangements
Where large capacity and/or high Static Pressure requirements present belt-drive selection problems, direct-drive and are often the ideal solution. Direct-drive fans are compact, efficient and economical – eliminating the problems of belt tensioning, belt maintenance and replacement.
Arrangements 4 and 8 are standard direct-drive. Arrangements 1 and 3 can be utilized for direct-drive applications by erecting an independent pedestal for motor, of proper height to permit drive connection through flexible coupling.

Arrangement 4 – SWSI
Motor pedestal attached to the fan housing, with wheel overhung on motor shaft for direct-drive applications. Limited to synchronous motor speeds and corresponding performances. Arrangement 4 units are compact, efficient – and greatly reduce installation costs.

Arrangement 8 – SWSI
Direct-drive version of Arrangement 1 – with the addition of an extended motor base. Flexible coupling mounted n the fan shaft connects motor to fan shaft. Suitable for the same applications as Arrangement 1, but limited o the synchronous motor speeds. Advantages include complete factory assembly of fan, motor and coupling – plus test run prior shipment.
